Echinaster echinophorus the Caribbean throny sea star is often confused with the African knobby sea star Protoreaster linckii. We have had years of success keeping this species in reef tanks and they are one of the easiest of the starfish species available in the hobby.
At the shop we keep them in fully stocked reef tanks alongside other reef invertebrates without any issues.
