Shipping Policy for Coral Orders

We offer Free Overnight Shipping on coral orders totaling $249 or more. Please note the following terms:

  • Free shipping applies only to corals.
  • If your order includes a fish or other non-coral items, the normal shipping rate will be applied to your entire order.
  • Free shipping is exclusively available for eligible orders shipped via UPS Next Day Air® to ensure the health and safety of your corals.

Local Pick-Up:

  • Free Local Pick-Up: Available for customers in the Tri-State area (Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky). Choose "Local Pick-Up" at checkout under shipping options.

Sale Items:

  • Sale items do not qualify for free shipping unless explicitly stated in the offer.

Shipping Schedule:

  • Delivery Days: You can select your preferred shipping day at checkout. We ship orders Monday through Thursday, with deliveries typically arriving before noon the next day. No weekend shipments.
  • Shipping Carrier: We ship exclusively with UPS Next Day Air®. For the best results, we recommend picking up your shipment directly from your local UPS station to minimize stress on the animals.

Dead on Arrival (DOA)

  • Two photos with at least one in water and a 5 second video clip in water must be sent to us at DiscoverAquaticsShop@gmail.com within 2 hours of delivery.
  • Do not discard fish until we have communicated and have been instructed to do so.
  • Claims outside this timeframe will not be eligible for store credit or a refund.
  • Refunds for DOA claims will be issued as store credit for future purchases.
  • Replacement shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Packaging:

  • We use top-of-the-line insulated shipping containers to ensure the safe arrival of your corals, no matter where in the USA they are shipped. Corals are double-bagged, and heat or ice packs are included as necessary.

Our Water Parameters:

  • We maintain our systems at a salinity of 1.025-1.026, with alkalinity at 8-9 dKH, magnesium at 1450+ ppm, and calcium at 450 ppm. This ensures that the water in your shipment is closely aligned with typical reef tank parameters, making acclimation easier.

Livestock Policy:

  • No Returns or Exchanges: We do not accept returns or exchanges on livestock. Please do not send any livestock back to us, as we cannot accept them.

Sharks, Rays, Eels (Expert) 

  • Discover Aquatics guarantees that all livestock we ship will arrive alive and in good condition. However, sharks, rays, and eels have advanced husbandry requirements and need very stable water quality, so we advise them only for seasoned aquarists. For this reason, any livestock labeled “Expert” is excluded from our extended guarantee after safe arrival.
