The Griffis Hybrid Angelfish is an exceptionally rare and distinctive member of the Apolemichthys genus, combining the striking characteristics of the Griffis Angelfish and Goldflake Angelfish. Each individual can develop its own unique combination of yellow, cream, gray, black and blue coloration, making these hybrids true one-of-a-kind showpieces.

As the fish matures, its coloration and pattern can change considerably. Characteristics from both parent species may become more pronounced with age, including the darker markings of the Griffis Angel and the brilliant yellow coloration associated with the Goldflake Angel.

A mature aquarium with plenty of live rock, caves and swimming space is recommended. Griffis Hybrids are generally hardy once established and should be offered a varied diet including high-quality marine pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, spirulina-based foods, marine algae and nori.

Like most larger angelfish, the Griffis Hybrid should be considered reef safe with caution. Individual behavior varies, and some specimens may nip at LPS corals, soft corals, zoanthids, clam mantles or other sessile invertebrates. Keeping the fish well-fed can help reduce unwanted grazing behavior.

Due to its rarity, unusual coloration and extremely limited availability, the Griffis Hybrid Angelfish is an outstanding choice for experienced aquarists looking for a truly uncommon centerpiece fish.

Recommended Water Parameters:

Salinity: 1.020–1.025 SG

Please Note: Due to the hybrid nature of this fish, coloration, pattern and adult appearance can vary significantly between individual specimens.
