Description
Description
The Pygmy Angelfish, also known as the Atlantic Pygmy Angelfish or Cherubfish, is a captivating dwarf angelfish with a vibrant blue body and striking yellow-orange accents on its face and fins. Its small size and peaceful nature make it a popular choice for smaller reef aquariums.
A minimum of a 30-gallon tank with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding places is recommended for the Pygmy Angelfish. While generally considered reef safe, there is a slight possibility it may nip at stony corals, soft corals, and clam mantles, especially if not well-fed.
The Pygmy Angelfish is hermaphroditic and difficult to breed in captivity. There are no readily apparent visual differences between males and females. Its diet should consist of a variety of foods including Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis shrimp, and other frozen meaty foods. In a home aquarium, they typically reach a size of around 3 inches.
