Unlike a single-species copepod culture, The Trifecta Blend contains three complementary species designed to help establish a more diverse copepod population throughout your rockwork, substrate and refugium.

Three Live Copepod Species

Tigriopus californicus
A larger, highly active copepod that makes an excellent live food for pod-hunting reef fish. Its swimming behavior helps encourage natural feeding and foraging.

Tisbe biminiensis
A small benthic copepod known for reproducing quickly within reef aquariums. Tisbe copepods readily populate rockwork, substrate and refugiums, helping establish a long-term natural food source.

Apocyclops panamensis
A small, nutritious copepod well suited for smaller reef fish, larvae, corals and other inhabitants that benefit from appropriately sized live prey.

Plus Live Tetraselmis chuii Phytoplankton

How to Add Copepods to Your Reef Tank

For best results, add The Trifecta Blend when aquarium lights are off or beginning to dim. Temporarily reduce or turn off mechanical filtration, UV sterilizers and protein skimming to give the copepods time to settle into the rockwork and refugium.

Gently mix the pouch before use and distribute the culture throughout the display tank and refugium.
