The Green Rhodactis Mushroom is a hardy and attractive soft coral known for its vibrant green coloration, textured surface and fleshy appearance. Its combination of easy care and eye-catching color makes it an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced reef aquarists.
Rhodactis mushrooms generally prefer low to moderate lighting and gentle to moderate water flow. Excessively strong flow can prevent the mushroom from fully expanding, while extremely intense lighting may cause it to remain contracted or move to a more shaded area.
Most of its nutritional needs are supplied through photosynthesis, but Green Rhodactis Mushrooms can also benefit from occasional feedings of small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood or specialized coral foods. Feeding can encourage faster growth and larger expansion.
Once established, Rhodactis mushrooms can reproduce by splitting or budding and may gradually form a colorful colony across nearby rockwork. Allow adequate space between mushrooms and neighboring corals, as larger specimens can irritate or overgrow slower-growing corals.
The Green Rhodactis Mushroom is an excellent choice for adding bright color, movement and texture to virtually any reef aquarium.
