Active and alert, it thrives in mature 180+ gallon aquariums with long swimming lanes, moderate–strong flow, strong oxygenation, and plenty of established live rock to browse. Generally peaceful but territorial with other tangs (especially Zebrasoma), it’s best kept singly or introduced last. Feed an algae-rich diet of nori/seaweed on clips, spirulina pellets, and quality herbivore blends, with occasional mysis for condition and color.
