The Orange Spot Acan Echinata is a colorful and highly sought-after LPS coral known for its fleshy polyps, encrusting growth pattern and intense coloration. Orange markings stand out beautifully under blue and actinic reef lighting, making each colony a unique addition to the aquarium.
Acan Echinata generally performs best under low to moderate lighting with low to moderate, indirect water flow. Lower rockwork or the bottom portion of the aquarium typically provides an ideal environment.
Although photosynthetic, Acan Echinata benefits from occasional supplemental feeding. Mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood and quality LPS coral foods can help promote growth, tissue expansion and coloration.
Acan Echinata is an aggressive coral capable of extending sweeper tentacles and delivering a powerful sting to nearby corals. Provide generous spacing and avoid placing peaceful corals directly beside the colony.
